This week we are continuing to count forwards and backwards to 10. We are learning how to partition numbers to learn what smaller numbers make a bigger number. We call this whole, part, part. January 13-17, 2014.
This week we are still practicing counting forwards and backwards to 10. We are also reviewing how to recognize numbers quickly to 5. This is called subitizing. Also, we are practicing writing the numbers to 10 and matching up the numeral to the quantity.

This week we focused on counting from 1-10 and 10-1. We were also reviewing how to count before and after a number. Ex 3 is before 4 and 5 is after 4.

Today we reviewed how to count to five, then we read a number book that helped us count to ten. We worked on our counting skills during centers and we finised class by playing a counting game on www.abcya.com called Birthday Candle Count.
